Why raise funds for Christian Education

The school is doing another fundraiser. Why should we support Christian Education? If we look at the education of our children as the responsibility of the parents as it says in the Bible, why not let parents do the education? Well, If parents want to home school, that is fine. It can be a great option, but if the parents do not feel qualified, then they need to have help in training their children. Our job as Christian Educators is to come along side the parents and assist them in raising their children in a Christ-like fashion.

Raising kids is like a three legged stool, each leg is important. The parents are one leg, the church is another leg, then school is another leg. We need to choose what school we will send our children to. If we are not careful, they will be fed things that are not fact as fact. They will believe these things, not because they are defiant to us, but because they have been presented with authority by people we parents have told them to listen to. What is it that is being taught in school today? Do you agree with it? Does it expand their mind? Does it close their mind?

I want my kids in a school that opens their mind, not only to Christ their Savior, but also challenges them to know what is being taught in the secular world, so they will be able to have an opinion themselves of what is true in the world, and they will stand firm in their beliefs. I want my children to be able to lead people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I want them to know what the talking points in secular debates are so they can defend their position, not only accurately, but well.

Why do I work to raise funds for Christian Education, it is because I believe it is what the world needs for this generation so that we can have leaders in the next generation who will lead us closer to Jesus. I believe we need to get our kids to have their OWN faith because without it, the church will die, and we know that when depravity takes over, God takes out the troublemakers. Look at Sodom and Gomorrah and even the flood of Noah’s day.

I raise funds for Christian Education because people tomorrow are going to need the kids of today to lead them to Jesus.
